International Route 66 Festival
August 14-17,2014
Kingman, the Heart of Route 66, is beating with excitement as the town revs-up to host the International Route 66 Festival this summer. The Festival, hosted in Joplin MO in 2013, was last hosted in Arizona (Flagstaff) in 2009.
Because Kingman is situated along the longest stretch of Historic Route 66, festival attendees will have a fantastic opportunity to enjoy a true Route 66 road-trip and visit many area Route 66 attractions between Festival events.
The event line-up includes a VW Car Show, Chillin’ on Beale Street Classic Car Show, Bob Waldmire Art Exhibit (with an official induction into The Route 66 Walk of Fame) and the Route 66 Authors’, Artists’ & Collectors’ Exhibition. Performing bands and musicians include Reunion, Garlin Hackney Band and Joe Loesch & the Road Crew.
An Historic Electric Vehicle Symposium and a Bob Boze Bell (legendary western artist and chief editor of TrueWest Magazine) The 66 Kid Exhibit are also in the works! More details yet to follow.
