Route 66 near Grand Canyon Caverns

The stretch of road in front of the Grand Canyon Caverns is the only section of Route 66 highway (outside of a town) with double lanes in each direction.

Descend by elevator 21 stories into the earth for a guided tour along 45 minutes of paved, lighted trails through 3 million-year-old undersea fossils. Once back at the surface, relax in the restaurant or cocktail lounge, browse the gift shop, stay at the 48 rooms Inn, or park in the RV park. There is plenty more to do after the caverns, enjoy hiking, biking, and swimming.
