On the 3rd Saturday in October, the community of Chloride celebrates their rich mining history with the Old Miners' Day Parade and Celebration. All proceeds go to the Chloride Chamber of Commerce Special Events Committee.
To start the day, Chloride's bakers prepare their one-of-a-kind treats for the Corner Bake Sale at 8 AM. Pineapple Upside-Down Cake and Pecan Pie are bestsellers! Don't forget to buy raffle tickets... the prizes include hotel stays, gift certificates, and sometimes cash! You can still participate in the parade, just sign up in the Town Hall between 9:30 AM and 11 AM.
Watch gunfight reenactments in the Chloride Historical Society's Cyanide Springs at 11 AM and 1 PM. The parade starts at noon! After the parade, have lunch at Yesterdays Restaurant, grab a snack at the Mineshaft Market or from one of the various food vendors. The parade awards celebration and raffle prizes (at the Chloride Town Hall) round out the day!
