The City of Kingman along with the Aviation Heritage Center of Kingman (AHCoK) is celebrating the 100th Birthday of Major Leven Ferrin of Phoenix, by bringing the Commemorative Air Force B-17 Sentimental Journey to the Kingman Municipal Airport Monday, December 6, 2021, from 10:00 a.m. – 3:00 p.m. Maj. Ferrin and his family will be in attendance and will participate in a historic local flight of the B-17. Mr. Ferrin was one of few B-17 pilots in WWII who completed all 25 missions over Europe with the 8th Air Force. The AHCoK will be offering paid tours of the Commemorative Air Force B-17 Sentimental Journey during the event for $10 a person or $20 per family. Tours are free for children under five, disabled Veterans, active military, and WWII Veterans.
Kingman Mayor Jen Miles said, “The opportunity to bring this hero and the iconic B-17 together for such an incredible moment in time is truly rare and will never come this way again. We look forward to our community joining us for this special event.”
