RoadTrip America

A Sports Fan's Guide to Route 66

by Ron Clements

THE FIRST SPORTS-RELATED BOOK ABOUT AMERICA'S MAIN STREET

It may come as a surprise that, with all the wonderful guidebooks written about Route 66, not one author has focused on sports—until now. With A Sports Fan’s Guide to Route 66, veteran sports journalist Ron Clements breaks new ground to share insider info and engaging narrative that will keep sports buffs of every variety anxious to discover what’s around everybend from Chicago to L.A. From professional teams of every type to collegiate and high school programs, Clements covers them all with photos, anecdotes, and interviews. Up-to-date directions and detailed maps guide the way to stadiums, car and horse racing venues, golf links, rodeo arenas, museums, iconic sports shrines, and more. Nostalgic roadside attractions, vintage eateries, and historic motels are included, too, making this a truly valuable addition to the Route 66 guidebook canon.
